132 Nigerians Set To Return Home: Third Batch Of Evacuees Arriving Today

  • Over the past few days, 638 Nigerians stranded in Egypt and Sudan have been evacuated and returned to Nigeria.

  • The third batch of 132 evacuees is to arrive in Abuja today, with previous batches already safely back home.

  • The government made efforts to bring all stranded citizens home amidst the Sudan Crisis. 

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the third batch of stranded Nigerians, numbering 132, are expected to arrive in the country today (Saturday).

The first batch of 376 evacuees arrived in Nigeria from Egypt on Wednesday night.

The second batch of 130 evacuees arrived in the country from Port Sudan on Friday.

According to the Spokesperson, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abdulrahman Balogun, said the Tarco aircraft took off at 7.20am Sudanese local time from Port Sudan with 132 Nigerian nationals, 124 adults, and eight infants.

Balogun also disclosed that “the seven hours flight is expected to arrive at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at about 1.30-2pm.

“The plane is to have a one hour stop over at Juba, South Sudan.”
