Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has revealed that Russian leader Vladimir Putin has informed American officials of his intention to fully capture Ukraine’s Donbas region before the end of 2025.
Eko Hot Blog retrieves that Zelensky speaking in an interview aired on Tuesday disclosed that President Putin told U.S. authorities, including representatives from the White House and an envoy from President Donald Trump, that the offensive in Donbas could be completed in just a few months.
“He told them directly two months, maybe three, four at most and Donbas will be under Russian control,” Zelensky said.
The Ukrainian leader expressed deep concern over the human cost such a push could bring, warning that it might drag on for years and result in catastrophic casualties.
“If Russia intensifies its assault, the toll could be a million lives,” Zelensky cautioned.
His remarks came shortly after a deadly Russian airstrike in eastern Ukraine killed at least 23 civilians. The victims were reportedly in line to collect their pensions in Yarova, a village in Donetsk region, when the attack happened.
Zelensky described the strike as “an act of extreme cruelty,” adding, “It happened right at the time pensions were being handed out. These were regular people.”
He also posted disturbing footage on social media, showing lifeless bodies scattered around a damaged white van at the scene.
The Ukrainian president called for urgent international response, appealing to the U.S., Europe, and global leaders for action. “We need a response from America, from Europe, and from the G20,” he stated.
