- A 48-year-old man, Mark Onuoha, on Friday appeared in an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State, for allegedly biting off a woman’s ear.
Onuoha, whose address was not provided, was charged with assault and causing grievous bodily harm, EkohotBlog reports.
The prosecutor, Insp Christian Okonofua, explained to the court that the defendant committed the offense on Aug. 31 at 7 at Itowolo, Ikorodu area of Lagos state.

The prosecutor established that the defendant assaulted Mrs. Rebecca Amosun by beating her up and biting off her left ear. The prosecutor expressed that the offenses contravene Sections 245 and 173 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Our platform gathered that Section 173 provides for a one-year jail term for assault.
The Magistrate, Mrs. T. A. Shotobi, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N25,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Shotobi adjourned the case until Sept. 13 for mention.
