Ondo: Akeredolu Breaks Silence On INEC Inferno Incident

Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has reacted to the fire outbreak incident at headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state.

The governor expressed shock at the incident, describing it as unfortunate.

Over 5000 units of card readers were destroyed in the Thursday inferno.

Akeredolu who visited the site of the incident on Friday, sympathised with the commission.

He charged the commission to investigate the incident.

The governor who is seeking a reelection at the forthcoming poll noted that the incident will no doubt be a huge additional cost to the commission’s preparedness as the governorship election in the state is less than 30 days.

“We sympathize with you and we want INEC to know that the people of this state are really concerned and are with you at this point in time in this calamitous situation.
