  • Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) have suspended its proposed strike after reaching an agreement with FG, Ekohotblog.com reports.

The Federal Government reached an agreement with Labour unions in Nigeria at exactly 2:53 am on Monday, September 28, over a nationwide strike by the NLC.

The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo (SAN) disclosed this via the micro-blogging site, Twitter on Monday morning.

The minister also said that the electricity tariffs has been suspended by government for 2 weeks with a joint Committee headed by himself to examine the justification for the new policy.

Keyamo after sharing the agreement details reached between the Labour and FG, he noted that the proposed Monday, September 28 strike has been suspended.

“FG & LABOUR reach agreement at 2:53 am. Deregulation to stay as Govt rolls out palliatives for labour (details in 2 weeks); Electricity tariffs suspended by Govt for 2 weeks with a joint committee headed by @fkeyamo to examine the justification for the new policy. Strike suspended,” Keyamo tweeted.
