My Close Friend Drove Me Away When I Told Him I Was The New G.O Of RCCG – Pastor Adeboye Reveals

  • General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church Of God shared a story about his close friend is his daily journal ‘Open Heaven’

 

Pastor Adeboye of The RCCG, has revealed an encounter he had with his friend at the beginning of his time as a General Overseer of the church. Open Heavens daily journal was first released in 2000 and has gone on to become the one of the most sold out book in Nigeria. Pastor EA Adeboye through the Open Heavens encourage Christians worldwide everyday and give them a message to hold on for the day, he also shares beautiful stories and testimonies that have influenced people’s life and yesterday, he shared a rather personal story.

The Topic of yesterday’s message was Wolf’s In Sheep’s Clothing, an adage that refers to someone dangerous hiding in form of an innocent person, an enemy who is pretending to be your friend. He talked about how Christians should be careful with who they work with and that many of the people we think that are close to us, are actually against us, even our family at times.

He then went on to share a sad story of how his friend shocked and betrayed him. According to him, he had just been appointed the role of General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God and he seriously needed someone close to him to confide in and maybe take advice from.

After meeting the person and telling him the good news, the person drove him away. He told Pastor EA Adeboye to leave his house and that he never liked him from the first day they both met. Pastor Adeboye saw this guy as a really close friend and was disappointed when the guy told him all of this.

He went on further to emphasise on top scrutinizing of the people close to us, he also made references to several Bible stories.
