The 27-year-old singer-songwriter took to his official Twitter handle, @Davido, to share the good news with his about 8.2M Followers.
Davido whose Instagram name carried @Davidoofficial has now changed to his stage name @Davido.
According to the star, the username was owned by a “Brazillian guy” and it took him about 10 years to convince him to relinquish the name.
“Finally!!!!! NEW IG NAME: DAVIDO … lol I literally begged some Brazilian guy for like 10 years on ig to free this name for me !! Thank you,” an excited Davido tweeted.
At the time of this report, the username @Davidoofficial is no longer available on Instagram after the switch. Davido’s account is now @Davido with about 18.1 million followers.
