Conor McGregor Signs His Bout Agreement For His Rematch With Dustin Poirier

  • EKOHOTBLOG, 20TH NOVEMBER, 2020
  • Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) boxer, Conor McGregor has signed his bout agreement to face Dustin Poirier

The news was confirmed by the Dubliner’s own media outlet, with the bout scheduled to take place at lightweight. Poirier already signed his contract last week.

The fight, which Dana White has said will not be for a title, is likely to go down on ‘Fight island’ in Abu Dhabi.

‘I am very grateful to be about to return and get to do what I love again,’ McGregor recently said regarding the contest.

‘I look forward to the fresh test Dustin will bring since our first bout, while also showcasing my own incredibly deep cache of weaponry. Whatever tool is needed on the night will be pulled from the duffel.

‘I am also really excited about aiding Dustin’s charity ‘The Good Fight Foundation’, which through the donation, will build a gym/premise for disadvantaged youth in his childhood hometown. ‘I truly love this, and pledge to match the donation on a premise in my own childhood hometown! Both spots with an ode to the upcoming bout.’

The pair first met in the featherweight division at UFC 178 in 2014 in a completely different phase of their careers.

McGregor made light work of the American on that occasion, knocking him out in just over two minutes.

However, Poirier is a fighter now and sits No 2 in the 155-pound rankings, two spots above McGregor.

The ‘Diamond’ has won five of his last six fights, only losing to the imperious Khabib Nurmagomedov.

McGregor, meanwhile, has fought just twice in the UFC since winning the lightweight title four years ago, also losing to Khabib before destroying Donald Cerrone at the start of the year.
