English Manager Temporarily Steps Down

  • Kenny Jacket took charge of the League 1 club back in 2017
  • He had series of spells with Swansea City, Millwall, Wolves and Bristol Rovers.
  • He vacated his position as head coach of the League 1 club on a temporary basis.

Portsmouth manager Kenny Jacket has temporarily stepped down as the head coach of the League 1 club due to health reasons with him now set to be in the sidelines until he fully recovers.

Confirming the move, part of the official statement from the Prompey read:

“Portsmouth Football Club can advice that, with effect from this Thursday ( February, 18), Kenny Jacket will not be in attendance at matches or training sessions following a medical procedure that will require a short period of rest and recuperation.

“Assistant manager Joe Gallen will operate in a coaching capacity during this time and will be assisted by first team coach Jake Wigley. We wish Kenny a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back shortly.”

He has been a huge revelation at the Fratton Park with him hoping to guide them to the Championship.

As gathered by EKO HOT BLOG , Portsmouth are currently occupying fourth position in the league table, five points adrift of leaders Lincoln City with a game in hand and hence, have a great chance of getting promoted.
