Police Shoot Two Soldiers At Checkpoint In Abuja, One Confirmed Dead

  • Sad news occurred yesterday in Abuja as two Nigerian soldiers were shot at a Police checkpoint.
  • The military sources informed the press,  EKO HOT BLOG gathered.
  •  Two military officers came under police fire when both were stopped at the Nakusa – Kuje police check when they were on a motorcycle.

According to reports, “Dantani Bako, a lance Corporal and Private Samuel Gambo — both are involved in counter insurgency operations in the Northeast”, who had an argument with the policemen on duty which eventually culminated into a fracas that led to a Police officer shooting two of them in their legs.

The problem started when the Police officers stopped them at Nakuse checkpoint, Kuje area of Abuja.

“One of the police officers broke their motorcycle headlight and it led to a misunderstanding between the men,” a source said.

The two soldiers it was reported, were rushed to a nearby medical facility in Kwali community for attention.

However, a Military source further stated that “Lance corporal Bako later died in the hospital.”

While “Private Gambo was referred to a specialist hospital in Gwagwalada for further treatment.”

This infuriated members of the Nakusa community who descended on the Nakuse police station.

Meanwhile, the authorities of the concerned security agencies have however stepped in to forestall any further breakdown of law and order while the case is being investigated.
