PearlMutual Consulting Limited (‘PearlMutual’ or ‘the Company’) is a business advisory firm established in September 2009 by a group of consultants with over 20 years of joint work experience in leading consulting/advisory services firms. The Company is incorporated as a private limited liability company under the Companies and Allied Matters Act 1990 of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (RC845125). The Company offers services in Financial Advisory, Executive Training and Recruitment. PearlMutual has a board and its head office is located in Lekki, Lagos.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Managing Director

Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee financial and operational strategies, and procedures.
  • Provide strategic advice and industry insight to the Board of Directors.
  • Mitigate, minimize, and manage associated risks
  • Prepare and monitor the performance of a quarterly and annual budget.
  • Actively pursue opportunities to scale back non-value adding activity and ensure cost-efficiency.
  • Prepare and report annual financial statements to the board of directors, shareholders, and relevant regulatory authorities.
  • Engage external stakeholders on finance components for value approvals.
  • Lead quality improvement projects with clear accountabilities and responsibilities for delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.

Business Development:

  • Make key contributions to the formulation of the company’s short and long-term sales strategy.
  • Undertaking marketing and public relations activities to promote business growth.
  • Oversee the development of new products and services that fit the operating environment and customer demographic.
  • Develop and maintain new clients.

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Develop and maintain a sound organizational structure.
  • Foster a performance-driven culture.
  • Partner with business unit leaders to develop and execute organizational goals.
  • Develop and manage the organization’s succession plan for key roles.
  • Establishes policies to ensure a safe and inclusive work environment and the optimal performance of staff.
  • Implement effective internal communication and change management.
  • Hire a high-performing team.

Requirements for the above Managing Director role:

  • Minimum of 12 years experience, at least 6 years at senior management level, and at least 5 years must have been in the financial services industry.
  • A post-graduate degree or Professional Qualification such as CFA, FRM, CIPM, CBAP, ACA, ACCA
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Relevant banking and finance experience

Experiences:

  • Post-qualification experience in the following areas is suitable:
    • Business performance management
    • Human resource management
    • Financial accounting and controlling
    • Audit practice
    • Project management
    • Deal origination
    • Credit management
    • Planning and forecasting
  • Possesses integrity and high ethical standards.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution.
  • Robust knowledge of the domestic and international finance industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and deliver high-impact business propositions.
  • Thorough understanding of corporate governance and general management best practices.
  • Stakeholder management and negotiation skills
  • A logical and innovative approach to problem-solving.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Excellent team player with demonstrated ability to contribute positively to team dynamics.
  • Ability to navigate a wide range of stakeholders including senior management groups, government agencies, company boards, professionals, and customers.
