- Jean-Pierre Adamse was born on 10th March, 1948 in Senegal
- He relocated to France when he was 10 years old.
- He’s still in a coma 39 years after undergoing his knee operation.
On the 10th of this month, Jean-Pierre Adams clocked 73. But Adams, who played for the French national team from 1972 to 1976, has spent most of his life in a state of coma.
The former PSG player had a ligament rupture injury and was operated upon in March 1982. However, after an error by his Anaesthetist, which caused his brain to be starved of oxygen, Adams slipped into a coma. Till this very day, he hasn’t recovered.
In the 1990s, the Anaesthetist and Trainee were given one month suspended sentences and fined $815. But Adams’ life had already been damaged.
His wife, Bernadette, has remained by his side ever since, taking care of him at home and refusing to consider euthanasia.
Bernadette, who’s been married to Adams since 1969, told CNN in 2020 that, “no one ever forgets to give Jean-Pierre presents, whether it’s his birthday, Christmas or Father’s Day.”
Adams is not capable of any voluntary movement so she does everything for him. But Bernadette says she’s hoping for a miracle, hoping that her husband’s condition will improve, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.
“Everybody hopes that he will come out of the coma. But the more time that passes, the more it troubles me,” Bernadette said.
