- The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested 10 suspected internet fraudsters in Akure, Ondo State.
Ten young men involved in internet crimes popularly called Yahoo Yahoo were on Monday, March 29, arrested at their various hideouts in Akure, the Ondo State capital, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), with eight exotic vehicles found with them at the point of arrest.
The ten men, whose names were given as Adekolurejo James, Gabriel Seyifunmi, Adekunle Joshua, Adeboyega Idowu, Olorunnayo Adewale, Akande Akinyemi, Oluwugbemgia Blessing, Oladepo Abiodun, Ibrahim Olagoke and Akinboyejo Abimbola, were arrested following intelligence reports received about their activities.
According to a statement by the anti graft commission posted on its Twitter handle @officialEFCC on Monday night, during their arrest, eight vehicles including Mercedes Banz, Toyota, Honda, among others, were found with them.
Other items recovered from them included laptops computers, phones, documents and identity cards, while the statement added that the young men have made useful statements and will be arraigned in court as soon as investigations are completed, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.
According to the statement: “Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday, March 29, 2021, arrested 10 internet fraudsters in Akure, Ondo State.
“Those arrested are Adekolurejo James, Gabriel Seyifunmi, Adekunle Joshua, Adeboyega Idowu, Olorunnayo Adewale, Akande Akinyemi, Oluwugbemgia Blessing, Oladepo Abiodun, Ibrahim Olagoke and Akinboyejo Abimbola.

“The suspects have made useful statements and will be arraigned in court as soon as investigations are completed.”
