Federal lawmakers and visitors were thrown into apprehension on Thursday morning over the conduct of stop-and-search on them by the security operatives at the National Assembly complex.
The lawmakers and their aides were subjected to scrutiny by the security operatives at the access gates of the complex, leading to massive traffic gridlock.

The National Assembly staff and journalists working in the complex were also asked to provide staff identification before being granted access to the complex.

A source revealed that the exercise was at the order of Police authorities.
EKO HOT BLOG, however, gathered that the exercise may not be unconnected with security threats in the country and claim by Niger Governor that Boko Haram terrorists were getting closer to Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
