- Gunmen have abducted a Nigerian commissioner.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that unknown gunmen have abducted the Niger State Commissioner of Information, Alhaji Mohammed Sani Idris.
It was gathered that the commissioner was abducted in his hometown, Baban Tunga in Tafa Local Government Area of Niger State around 1am on Monday (today).
As gathered by EKO HOT BLOG, the abduction of the commissioner was confirmed by the Secretary to Niger State Government, Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim Matane, noting that security operatives are already on his trail.
He further expressed hope that the security operatives would be able to trace and rescue the commissioner unhurt.
“He was kidnapped at the early hours of today around 1am at Baban Tunga in Tafa Local Government.
“Security operatives are already on the trail of the kidnappers and we hope they will rescue him unharmed,” Matane said.
The Niger State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, further confirmed the incident.
He promised to provide more details later.
