EKO HOT BLOG reports that the latest figures by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirms that Nigeria now has a total of 247,009 COVID-19 cases.
In its latest case update dated January 7, the NCDC reports 814 new cases with 4 COVID-related death.

The new cases were reported in 17 states – Lagos-310, Rivers-126, Taraba-76, FCT-74, Ondo-68, Gombe-35, Kaduna-27, Oyo-20, Delta-17, Kwara-12, Ekiti-11, Bauchi-9, Edo-8, Kano-8, Nasarawa-7, Ogun-4 and Bayelsa-2.
According to the NCDC, no case was recorded in Osun and Sokoto States
It was gathered that out of the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria, 217,832 cases have been discharged while the death toll has risen to 3,070.
