EKO HOT BLOG reports that the solidarity rally by the Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC), on Wednesday, has caused heavy gridlock at the major roads leading to the Federal Secretariat, Abuja.
The Congress is holding a mega rally in support of the five-month strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities.
Addressing the workers at the three-arm zone, Abuja, President of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, Comrade Ibrahim Mohammed appealed to the Federal Government to meet the demands of the unions.
Mohammed noted the university system couldn’t continue with the way it was being funded by the government.
The workers are taking the solidarity rally to the National Assembly.

This online news platform reported that the unions defied warnings by the Federal Government and took to the streets of major cities in the country on Tuesday to protest against the failure of the Federal Government to resolve the five-month strike by ASUU.
