EKO HOT BLOG reports that the National Assembly has been the location of the Nigeria Labour Congress’ (NLC) rally of support.
On the highways leading to the National Assembly, the rally has caused significant gridlock.
Earlier there was heavy security in and around the National Assembly to forestall possible breakdown of law and order during the ongoing protest by the Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC) in solidarity with the striking Academic Staff Union of Universities(ASUU)

Both anti-riot and regular policemen have been stationed at all entrances to the National Assembly as well as the Arcade where regular protests inside the Assembly usually take place.
As at Press time, it was not certain whether the protesters will be able to gain access into the National Assembly as the main entrance remains closed due to ongoing renovation work within the complex.
