Lagos DSVA has extended advocacy on s3xual violence to katangwa market

 

 

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Domestic and S3xual Violence Agency has extended its advocacy against S3xual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) tagged: “Men Wey Sabi” to Katangowa Market following the resolution of the State Government to rid Lagos of SGBVs crimes through continuous enlightenment campaigns and sensitisation programmes that cut across different strata of the society.

The Executive Secretary, Domestic and S3xual Violence Agency, Mrs. Lola Vivour-Adeniyi, spoke during the campaign, saying it was expedient to change the social construct by breaking gender stereotypes that further promote, consciously or unconsciously, the menace of S3xual and Gender-Based Violence in the State.

 

 

She disclosed that the Agency has received over 4000 complaints relating to cases of s3xual and gender-based violence within and outside the State, noting that the aim of the initiative was to educate the general public, particularly male adults, on gender roles.

 

 

The Babaloja-General, Alhaji Abiodun Kosoko and Iyaloja-General, Chief (Mrs.) Funmilayo Alabi George of Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA, expressed gratitude to the State Government for bringing the initiative to traders at the market.
