Golden Globes: Abbott Elementary Bags Best TV Series, Musical Or Comedy Category

TV series Abbott Elementary won the award for best television series, musical or comedy.

Eko Hot Blog reports that show creator and star Quinta Brunson said in her acceptance speech, “I created this show because I love comedy. There are so many people in this room who are the reason why I’m here.”

“Abbott Elementary” earned the most nominations of any television show, five.

Brunson and Tyler James Williams won awards for best actress in a TV series, musical or comedy and for best supporting actor in a TV series, respectively.

“During a very tough time in this country, I’m so grateful ‘Abbott Elementary’ can make people laugh,” Brunson said.

She also thanked comedians Henry Winkler and Seth Rogen and gave a shoutout to Brad Pitt.
