Police Make Arrests Over Fatal Shooting Of Dapo Sarumi’s Foster Son

  • Sarumi’s foster son, Toyin Adeniji, was shot dead on Monday.

  • The gunmen who carried out the attack were suspected to be cultists.

Eko Hot Blog reports that the Lagos State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the death of Toyin Adeniji, a foster son of prominent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Dapo Sarumi.

Adeniji, also Sarumi’s aide, was reportedly shot dead by suspected cultists in the Agege area of the state.

It was gathered that the deceased was at the front of his house at Oyewole Road, Agege when the gunmen invaded the area and shot him at close range.

The police spokesperson in Lagos, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest of seven suspects in connection with the murder.

“I want to confirm that one Toyin Adeniji was shot at Agege,” Hundeyin said.

“We arrested seven suspects closely tied to the crime and investigation is ongoing,” he said.

Meanwhile, policemen from Area ‘G’’ Ogba have cordoned off the area while the case has been transferred to the state Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department.
