Recall that Governor Duoye Diri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who is leading in the election, has won five Local Government Areas (LGAs)

Following the resumption of collation on Monday afternoon, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Timipre Sylva, has won an additional local government area.
The state Resident Electoral Officer (REC) announced that Sylva is the winner of Brass local government, where he hails from. He added that the result of Southern Ijaw LGA is expected before the election is concluded.
