Eko Hot Blog reports that the Lagos State Urban Renewal Agency (LASURA) has unveiled plans to relocate temporarily to facilitate the construction of a state-of-the-art office complex.

Tpl. Ajibike Shomade, the General Manager of LASURA, revealed this during a visit by Dr. Oluyinka Olumide, the Honourable Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development.
According to Tpl. Shomade, the redevelopment initiative aims to transform the agency’s current compound into an iconic twin-tower edifice spanning 13 floors, aligning with LASURA’s commitment to spearheading urban renewal efforts and charting a progressive course for the future.
She emphasized the need for the temporary relocation to a site located at Work Yard Road, PWD, Ikeja GRA, to ensure seamless operations during the construction phase.
In response, Dr. Oluyinka Olumide commended the visionary initiative and urged for the prompt formulation of a time-bound action plan to ensure the project’s efficient and successful execution.
Tpl. Shomade outlined the scope of the redevelopment project, stating that the new office building will occupy 2000 square metres of the agency’s expansive landmass, which spans over 8500 square metres.
The project will give rise to a twin-tower edifice boasting 13 floors of world-class infrastructure.
In her statement, Tpl. Ajibike Shomade remarked, “The redevelopment of our office compound signifies our commitment to pioneering urban renewal efforts and setting a benchmark for future development initiatives. The temporary relocation will enable us to continue our operations seamlessly while ushering in a new era of modern infrastructure.”
Dr. Oluyinka Olumide echoed his support for the project, emphasizing the importance of efficient planning and execution.

He stated, “This initiative represents a significant step towards enhancing the urban landscape of Lagos. We must ensure that the redevelopment project proceeds according to schedule, delivering a landmark facility that reflects the state’s commitment to progress.”
