Access Bank Lagos City Marathon: Navigating Road Closures And Alternative Routes

Eko Hot Blog reports that in preparation for the annual Access Bank Lagos City Marathon on 10th February 2024, the Lagos State Government has outlined temporary road closures to ensure the seamless execution of the event, commencing at 5:30 am.

Affected Routes During the Marathon:

– Funsho Williams Avenue from the stadium
– Ikorodu Road, Anthony, Gbagada, Third Mainland Bridge, Dolphin Road, Alfred Rewane, Falomo Roundabout, Bourdilon Road, Lekki Bridge, Freedom Way, Akin-Adesola, Ahmadu Bello Way.

 

Designated Alternative Routes:

– Apongbon Bridge, Eko Bridge, Costain Roundabout, Iponri, Bode Thomas or Eko Bridge, Costain Roundabout, Apapa Road, Oyingbo, Jebba, Herbert Macaulay.
– Victoria Island, Independence Bridge, CMS Bridge, Apongbon, Ijora Olopa, Iddo, Oyingbo, Herbert Macaulay.

It’s vital to note that all outbound journeys from Ikorodu Road, Funsho Williams Avenue en route Lagos Island are exempted from the closure.

To ensure a seamless flow of traffic and the safety of athletes, LASTMA (Lagos State Traffic Management Authority) officials will be strategically deployed at all diversion points.

As Lagos residents and visitors gear up for this exciting marathon, the state government encourages everyone to cooperate with the designated traffic measures, fostering a successful and enjoyable event.
