Eko Hot Blog reports that in response to public complaints about miscreants and beggars occupying pedestrian bridges, the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (KAI), led by Corps Marshal Major Olatunbosun Olaniyi Cole (Retd), conducted a successful enforcement operation today.

The operation targeted Oshodi and Ikeja-along pedestrian bridges, areas known for recurrent harassment of pedestrians.
The move aims to address the safety concerns of residents, encouraging the use of pedestrian bridges while ensuring the removal of touts and miscreants constituting a public nuisance.
Major Olatunbosun Olaniyi Cole emphasized the importance of pedestrian safety and urged Lagosians to utilize designated bridges for crossing highways.
“While we encourage Lagosians to desist from crossing the highways and use the pedestrian bridges, this enforcement will be conducted and sustained across the State.”
The statement further warned that anyone found jeopardizing the safety of pedestrians on highways would face apprehension and prosecution, serving as a deterrent to others.
“Any person found constituting a threat to the safety of pedestrians on highways will be apprehended and prosecuted by the courts to serve as deterrents to others.”
This initiative aligns with the ongoing efforts of the Lagos State government to ensure the safety and well-being of its residents.
