Eko Hot Blog reports that the crisis rocking Rivers State has taken a new twist as Governor Siminalayi Fubara is set to probe the affairs of his erstwhile political godfather and former Governor of the state, Nyesom Wike.
According to reports, the Rivers State government is preparing to establish an investigative committee to scrutinize the operations of the previous administration under Nyesom Wike for the eight years he was in power.
Wike served as Rivers State Governor from 2015 to 2023.
Recall that the oil-rich state has been engulfed in a political crisis for months.
The crisis, which has defied interventions from different quarters, have seen Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the former Governor of the state and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, in a supremacy battle over the state House of Assembly.
