The curfew aims to address a series of violent incidents, including property destruction, theft, and victimization.

The governor’s decision was communicated via a statement released to journalists on Monday by the Secretary to the State Government, Ibrahim Muhammad Kashim.

Governor Mohammed has directed all security agencies to take immediate action to control the situation, apprehend those responsible, and ensure they face justice. He also called on law-abiding citizens to cooperate with security efforts during this challenging period.

No fewer than 52 protesters were said to have been arrested last Friday for alleged violent activities in the aftermath of the nationwide protest, which commenced last Thursday in the state.

The State Commissioner of Police, Auwal Musa Mohammed, while providing an update to journalists on the arrest said a policeman was injured in the protest.
