President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria this evening from France, unless there are last-minute changes to his plans. Upon his arrival, Tinubu will oversee the inauguration of Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the new Chief Justice of Nigeria this Friday.
Sources close to the Presidency told WESTERN POST that Tinubu, who traveled to France on Monday, will promptly return to Abuja for the ceremony. The swearing-in of Justice Kekere-Ekun is seen as both a constitutional duty and a significant historical moment.
It has been reported that the National Judicial Council recommended Justice Kekere-Ekun to succeed Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, who is retiring on Thursday, August 22.
