Nkunku Scores Hat-Trick As Chelsea Thrash Barrow At Stamford Bridge

Christopher Nkunku netted a hat-trick as Chelsea breezed past League Two side Barrow to secure a spot in the Carabao Cup fourth round at Stamford Bridge.

Nkunku opened the scoring in the eighth minute, calmly slotting home after a perfectly chipped pass from Joao Felix.

He doubled his tally soon after with a deft flick, turning in Malo Gusto’s low cross. A Felix free-kick that hit the post and ricocheted off Barrow goalkeeper Paul Farman gave Chelsea a 3-0 lead at halftime.

Just two minutes into the second half, Pedro Neto scored his first goal for Chelsea, finishing a pass across the box from Mykhailo Mudryk. Nkunku completed his hat-trick in the 75th minute after dispossessing Farman and rolling the ball into an empty net.

This marks Nkunku’s first Chelsea hat-trick, bringing his goal tally to six in eight appearances this season. It was also his first start since the Blues’ opening-day defeat to Manchester City last month.
