U-17 World Cup: Flamingos Thrash Ecuador To Extend Unbeaten Run

A brace from Shakirat Moshood, along with goals from Peace Effiong and Chidera Chidi, powered Nigeria’s Flamingos to a dominant 4-0 victory over tournament debutants Ecuador in their second Group A match at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup on Saturday.

The Flamingos, who opened the competition with a 4-1 win against New Zealand, now sit atop Group A with six points from two matches.

Moshood kicked off the scoring in the 28th minute with a calmly taken penalty. Chidi doubled the lead in the 54th minute with a low left-footed strike, and Effiong made it 3-0 after capitalizing on a goalkeeper error in the 66th minute.

Moshood capped the performance with her second goal in stoppage time, smashing in a brilliant left-footed strike.
