EKO HOT BLOG reports that the statement highlighted that the NEC meeting had already been rescheduled once from October 24 to November 28, following consultations with party leaders and stakeholders. However, the National Working Committee (NWC) resolved to defer it again after considering the funeral events.
“After due consideration, the NWC, recognizing the need for Party leaders to commiserate with Governor Umo Eno and participate in the funeral, hereby notifies distinguished members of NEC that the 99th NEC meeting will now be held on a date to be communicated later,” the statement read.

The NWC apologized for any inconvenience caused by the postponement and urged all NEC members to take note of the changes.
The late Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, wife of Akwa Ibom Governor Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, was a beloved figure, and her funeral is expected to draw significant attention and participation from political and community leaders across the country.
