Ex-Queen of the Ooni of Ife, Prophetess Naomi Shikemi, the principal organizer of the tragic Ibadan funfair that caused the death of several children has been arrested and detained by the Nigerian police.
EKO HOT BLOG recalls that about 32 children were killed in a stampede that occurred on Wednesday during a funfair at the Islamic High School, Bashorun, Ibadan the Oyo State capital.
The Ex-Queen and an Ibadan-based broadcaster, Oriyomi Hazmat were accused of sponsoring the ill-fated event.
When contacted, the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adewale Osifeso confirmed that Naomi is in custody assisting in the investigation.
According to the PPRO, Naomi was “invited and she honoured the Invitation. She is assisting with the ongoing Investigation”.
