The festivities began earlier in the week with a Carol Night and a Jumat prayer session, setting a reflective and joyous tone for the celebration. On Friday, the wives of Epe Club members organized a cocktail and dinner night, showcasing their unwavering support for the club.

A key highlight of the 50th-anniversary celebration was the unveiling of a new lounge by “The Boys,” a coalition of like-minded members within the club. The lounge, envisioned as a hub for relaxation and decision-making, was officially opened by the Club President, Hon. Adebola Rasheed Shabi. Praising the initiative, Shabi commended “The Boys” for their vision and encouraged other groups within the club to emulate their efforts.

In his opening speech, Hon. Shabi expressed gratitude to club members, guests, and the community, reflecting on the journey of Epe Club as a significant institution in Epe Division. He emphasized the club’s enduring contributions to local development and announced the launch of a commemorative book titled History of Epe Club. The book seeks to enrich public knowledge about the club’s legacy and future aspirations.

“My hope and aspiration are for the club to remain dynamic, socially relevant, and committed to meeting the expectations of its members and society while staying true to the vision of its founders,” Shabi stated.

The event also featured an electrifying performance by legendary Nigerian Juju musician King Ebenezer Obey, whose music captivated the audience, creating a vibrant and memorable atmosphere.

Another significant part of the celebration was the recognition of outstanding individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the club and the Epe Division. Among the honorees were Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, Deputy Governor of Lagos State; Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly; Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, former Governor of Lagos State; Hon. Mustain Abiodun Tobun, Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Epe Constituency 1; Alhaji Akanni Seriki Bamu, an APC Chieftain, and others.

The Olu Epe of Epe Kingdom, HRM Oba Dr. Shefiu Olatunji Adewale, a royal father and founding member of the club, was also honored for his steadfast support and efforts toward community development.

Additionally, the club inducted new members, including Hon. Alidu Adekunle Kamilu, Mr. Quadri Jamiu Olorunmbe, TPL Ibrahim Oladehinde George Anifowoshe, and Barrister Dapo Alebiosu.
