Nigerian singer Asake has reportedly parted ways with his record label, YBNL, sparking widespread speculation across social media platforms.

The rumors gained momentum after fans noticed significant changes on Asake’s Instagram profile, where he removed references to YBNL from his bio.

In place of the record label, the artist now identifies himself as a “creative director.”

Adding fuel to the rumors, Asake also unfollowed YBNL boss Olamide on Instagram, a move that has drawn attention and sparked debates among fans.

Despite this, YBNL still follows Asake on Instagram, suggesting that the situation might not yet be confirmed or officially resolved.

 

It would be recalled that Asake is one of only six accounts followed by YBNL on the platform.

This makes the development even more intriguing, as it indicates that the relationship may not be entirely severed despite the social media signals.

 

Asake, whose real name is Ahmed Ololade, signed with YBNL in 2022 and quickly rose to stardom with his breakout hit, Sungba, which was later remixed with Burna Boy.

Under YBNL’s management, he enjoyed a string of successful releases, including his debut album, Mr. Money with the Vibe. The album set multiple records and cemented Asake’s place as one of the leading voices in Afrobeats.
