President Bola Tinubu has acknowledged the challenges and delays surrounding the appointment of Nigerian ambassadors, Eko Hot Blog reports
Speaking in a video message, Tinubu explained that he cannot simply appoint anyone to such important positions, which has contributed to the delay in releasing the list.

He noted that while there are still some ambassadorial slots available, the process of selecting qualified candidates is complex and requires careful consideration.
The president thanked Nigerians for their patience and emphasized that his administration is focused on addressing economic issues and restoring hope before finalizing diplomatic appointments.

“I couldn’t appoint everyone I wanted to. Thank you for your continued patience. I still have ambassadorial positions to fill, and many people are interested, but compiling the right list is not easy,” he said.
“First, we must fix the economy and restore hope to the people, that’s our primary mission, and that hope is here. Thank you for believing in me,” Tinubu added.
The most recent group of Nigerian ambassadors was appointed under the late former President Muhammadu Buhari. Since assuming office on May 29, 2023, President Tinubu has yet to name new ambassadors, despite growing public pressure.
