Augustine University Welcomes Rev. Prof. Akinwale as New Vice-Chancellor

The newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of Augustine University, Ilara-Epe, Rev. Prof. Anthony Akinwale, OP, officially assumed duty today, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the institution’s leadership.

Eko Hot Blog reports that Management staff members were on ground to warmly welcome him as he took over the reins of administration, following the successful completion of the five-year tenure of the outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Christopher Odetunde.

Speaking shortly after resuming office, Rev. Prof. Akinwale expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him.
“I am humbled by this opportunity to serve and to contribute to the vision of Augustine University.

My focus will be on fostering academic excellence, moral formation, and innovation that will make our institution a true center of learning and service,” he said.

The Acting Registrar, Mrs. Patricia Uche, described the new Vice-Chancellor’s arrival as a moment of renewal.

“We are optimistic that under Rev. Prof. Akinwale’s leadership, Augustine University will reach even greater heights. His wealth of experience in academia and faith leadership will guide us in the right direction,” she remarked.

A student representative, Miss Deborah Olawale, also expressed excitement.
“We are looking forward to a Vice-Chancellor who understands both education and values. We believe he will open more opportunities for students and make our university proud,” she noted.
