The exercise was conducted peacefully under the supervision of the Nigeria Police Force, Odo-Noforija Division, ensuring safety and order throughout.

Addressing participants before the walk commenced, Baale Anwoju emphasized the importance of peace, unity, and wellness within the community.

“This health walk is not to fight anyone or involve in any controversy. We should all encourage a community where we will all live peacefully in unity and love. This movement is for our good health,” he said.

Community leaders also reaffirmed their support for the Baale and the unity of Iraye-Oke. Hon. Ibrahim Oluwaseyi, a respected indigene, said: “We are committed to ensuring good health for our people and reiterate our support for the Baale who we all chose to lead us.

Iraye-Oke Community is one and will remain undivided. We only organise this walk to make sure we have a common reason to be together.”

Similarly, Chief Abiye Ola Samuel, one of the heads of the ruling houses, stressed that all ruling families remain united in their commitment to the kingdom’s progress.

“Iraye-Oke community is one and only committed to growth and development of our people. Other ruling houses like Ayeni and Adeyoruwa are also committed to the development of the community. We are one as I earlier mentioned,” he noted.

Reinforcing the legitimacy of the traditional leadership, the Executive Chairman of Eredo LCDA, Hon. Monsuru Akinloye Ismail, declared: “I want to say categorically that we only know one Iraye and one Baale here.

This is Iraye-Oke Community led by High Chief Moshood Anwoju whose palace we are all sitting in right now. We must also put the records straight that this is only one recognised by the government up to the state level.”

The event was described by many as not just a health awareness initiative but also a reaffirmation of peace, unity, and the recognition of the authentic traditional leadership of Iraye-Oke.
