The former Kano State governor resigned from his position citing health-related reasons, just under a year after he assumed office at the APC’s emergency National Executive Committee meeting on August 3, 2023.

Recently, speculations have emerged suggesting that Ganduje and his political allies were considering dumping the APC for the ADC. But his spokesperson, Edwin Olofu, dismissed the claims as baseless.

Speaking to journalists on Saturday, Olofu made it clear that Ganduje remains firmly committed to the ruling party and continues to support President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

“Dr. Ganduje remains a dedicated and loyal member of the APC,” Olofu said. “He fully supports the President and is aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda. The rumours about defection are nothing but fake news.”

Ganduje, who led Kano State for eight years, has long been considered a strong political figure within the APC, and his support is seen as crucial in the North.
