Lagos State authorities have arrested six individuals accused of vandalising a government barricade at Obalende Roundabout a major traffic junction in the heart of the city.

EKO HOT BLOG reports thatt the suspects, identified as Matthew Yohana (19), Jinadu Aliyu (33), Yohanna Adamu (29), Ayuba James (25), Umoru John (19), and Yakubu Ali (25), were taken into custody as part of the state’s ongoing crackdown on public infrastructure vandalism.

Confirming the arrest in a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, said the suspects would face prosecution under the state’s laws.

“All those arrested will be charged in accordance with the relevant laws. We will not tolerate acts of criminality or lawlessness that threaten public safety or damage state property.”

This latest incident comes amid a wider effort by the state government to curb vandalism and reinforce order across Lagos, especially in areas prone to traffic and environmental violations.
