Kristin Cabot Files for Divorce After Viral Scandal

  • Kristin Cabot files for divorce weeks after viral kiss cam incident with ex-boss.
  • Andrew Cabot’s ex-wife Julia says he was unaffected and only embarrassed.
  • Both Kristin and Andy Byron resigned from their jobs after the scandal broke.

Kristin Cabot, the woman at the centre of the viral Coldplay kiss cam incident, has officially filed for divorce from her husband, Andrew Cabot, following the public fallout of her controversial moment at the concert.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the 52 year old was filmed getting intimate with her boss, Andy Byron, during a Coldplay concert in July a moment captured on the venue’s kiss cam and widely shared online. The public scandal led to both Cabot and Byron stepping down from their jobs shortly after.

Less than a month after the incident, Kristin filed divorce papers against her husband, Andrew Cabot, a sixth-generation heir to the Privateer Rum fortune, in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The documents were submitted on August 13, as confirmed by court records.

Though the kiss cam moment made headlines, insiders say the marriage was already troubled before the scandal broke.

Andrew’s former wife, Julia Cabot, spoke to The Daily Mail, offering blunt insights into the family drama.

“I messaged Andrew after it happened and he simply said: ‘Her life has nothing to do with me.’ He told me they were already separating,” Julia claimed.

Despite the fact that Kristin and Andrew were still legally married and sharing a home at the time, Julia suggested Andrew tried to distance himself from the incident.

“He’s pretending it doesn’t concern him. But then again, the only thing that truly matters to him is money,” she added.

Julia, a 63-year-old yoga instructor who was married to Andrew for four years before their split in 2018, didn’t hold back her opinions.

“I wouldn’t call him husband material,” she said of her ex-husband. “But she doesn’t come off as wife material either,” she added, referring to Kristin.

Describing Andrew as a member of the Boston elite what Americans often call a “Boston Brahmin” — Julia said his main concern was saving face, not dealing with emotional fallout.

“He’s from that old money world. Their attitude is: ‘This has nothing to do with me.’ His ego is too big to let it bother him. If anything, he’s just embarrassed,” she noted.

Julia concluded by suggesting that the public scandal was a form of poetic justice.

“After everything, I got messages from people just saying one word: karma. It was like, ‘What you put out comes back to you.’ He’s not a nice person. And now something not nice happened to him,” she said.

The divorce marks Andrew Cabot’s third, adding another chapter to the ongoing saga involving one of Boston’s oldest and wealthiest families.
