EKO HOT BLOG reports that Tambuwal, who currently represents Sokoto South in the Senate, had stated on a television programme that the move to unseat Tinubu was a nationwide agenda, not a northern plot.
Reacting in a statement on Sunday, Lagos APC spokesman, Seye Oladejo, described Tambuwal’s claim as misleading, arguing instead that Nigerians are rallying behind good governance and will continue to support Tinubu at the polls.
“What is emerging is a national consensus to support good governance, and when the time comes in 2027, Nigerians will not hesitate to reaffirm their trust in a leader who delivers,” Oladejo said.
He further insisted that Tinubu was freely elected in 2023 by Nigerians across regions and backgrounds, dismissing opposition criticism as political noise.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was not imposed, he was elected by Nigerians from every region, faith, and background. And unlike the noise-makers in the opposition, he has hit the ground running,” he added.
Oladejo also advised Tambuwal to focus on addressing questions from anti-graft agencies, saying recent revelations have put him under scrutiny. He described opposition efforts to form alliances ahead of 2027 as desperate and bound to fail.

“We watch with close interest as they struggle to build what will be, no doubt, an elusive alliance, sabotaged by their own greed, inflated egos, unbridled desperation for power, and self-righteousness. Nigerians are watching too, popcorn in hand,” he mocked.
The APC spokesman stressed that Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda is already recording progress in areas such as infrastructure, job creation, economic reforms, and power.
“While the opposition plays musical chairs and media politics, we are building roads, creating jobs, fixing power, reforming the economy, and laying the foundation for a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria,” Oladejo said.
