Last month, JAMB formed the committee to investigate cheating allegations involving 6,458 candidates. Chaired by Dr. Jake Epelle of the TAF Foundation, the committee’s mandate was to identify the methods and technologies used to commit exam offenses.
It also had to recommend ways to improve exam security, determine the guilt of each of the suspected candidates, and suggest appropriate disciplinary actions.

The committee included a diverse group of academics, security experts, and technology professionals, including retired Police Commissioner Fatai Owoseni and representatives from the Department of State Services and the Nigerian Police Force.
Members also came from the National Association of Nigerian Students and the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities, among other groups. The committee’s report is expected to detail new forms of exam fraud that emerged during the 2025 UTME.
JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, had previously spoken about the increasing sophistication of exam fraud, confirming that the results of the 6,458 candidates were being held for investigation.
