An eyewitness, Mustapha Badamasi, popularly known as Dan Bakano of Tudun Jukun, said the recovered corpse was identified as Yusuf Surajo, also known as Abba. Those still unaccounted for include a woman, Fatima Sani Danmarke, her three-year-old child, and a motorcyclist.

He explained that the incident happened along the main Gaskiya Road near a church in Tudun Jukun after floodwaters overran a large roadside drainage.

According to him, the motorcyclist was conveying the woman and her child when the bike struck the edge of the drainage. The woman reportedly slipped while attempting to cross on foot and was swept away with her baby and the rider.
