Disciplines that need a weather station in carrying out practicals and research include agriculture, geography and other environmental sciences but the non-availability of such equipment adversely affect the quality of graduates most Nigerian Universities churn out.

It is on this premise that the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMET) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Nasarawa State University, Keffi. The agreements were signed during the inauguration of a weather station in the university to aid learning and research.

Students of the university believe the project will boost their learning process and improve their knowledge repository
