Our reporter gathered that the suspect allegedly started the illicit business a few months ago.
Obiora had been fingered as the brain behind the distribution of illicit drugs in the Rijau Local Government Area and other parts of the state.
The suspect admitted in an interview with our correspondent that he joined the drugs trade after his automobile spare parts business collapsed.
The suspect, who hails from Enugu State stated, “It was economic hardship that pushed me into the illegal drugs business. I was defrauded by a business associate, whom I gave money to buy things for me from China. I shouldn’t have involved myself in this illicit business.
“People, who knew me as a spare parts dealer in Suleja, will be wondering what has gone amiss; they will be disappointed with my involvement in drugs business but I take it as an act of God and I have learnt my lesson the hard way.”
The command’s Public Relations Officer, Wasiu Abiodun, who confirmed the development, described Obiora’s arrest as another milestone in the fight against illicit drugs.
Abiodun said the operatives recovered from the suspect 15 bags of dried weeds suspected to be Indian hemp
