Nigeria has recorded eight new cases of coronavirus in the country.
The new cases were recorded in Lagos and Benue State.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control made the announcement on Saturday via its Twitter handle.
“8 new cases of #COVID19 has been reported in Nigeria, 7 in Lagos and 1 in Benue State.”
“As at 04:00 pm 28th March there are 89 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria with 1 death,” it tweeted.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday, met with the Minister of Health, Professor Osagie Ehanire and the Director-General of the National Centre for Disease Control, Dr. Chinwe Ikwekweazu at the State House, Abuja.
Reports showed that the officials were at the State House to give the President an update on the outbreak of coronavirus disease in the country.
