Coronavirus: NYSC Donates Safety Kits To LASG

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Lagos State, has donated safety kits for the prevention of the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic to the Lagos State Government.

Receiving the materials on behalf of the State Government, the Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, Engr. Tayo Bamgbose-Martins expressed government’s appreciation to the Lagos NYSC, stressing that the items would be used judiciously.

Bamgbose-Martins called on more corporate organisations, NGOs and private individuals to join the fight against COVID-19, noting that the government could not do it alone.

The Commissioner also solicited the cooperation, support and understanding of Lagosians on the extension of the lockdown directive by the Federal Government, emphasising that it was for the good of all and sundry.

The Coordinator, National Youth Service Corps, Lagos State, Mr. Eddy Megwa, who presented that materials to the State government alongside the management team and some Corps members, said the items were donated in support of the State’s efforts at eradicating COVID-19.

Appreciating the State Government for the steps taken in containing the spread of the COVID-19 in Lagos, the NYSC boss gave an assurance that the Corps members are capable of producing more of the donated materials at a reduced cost, if LASG can effectively mobilise them.
