Doctor With CoVid-19 Symptoms Dies in Akwa Ibom

A medical doctor, Dominic Essien has died in Akwa Ibom state after showing symptoms of the novel Coronavirus.

The doctor who was also the owner of San Dominique Hospital in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital was said to have started showing symptoms of the Coronavirus which led to getting treatment from his own hospital.

The deceased was until his death a renowned private practitioner, a physiotherapist and lectured in the Department of Physiology, University of Uyo.

After his condition worsened, the CoVid-19 response team was contacted, leading to his admission at the IbomMultispecialty Hospital, Uyo where he was said to have been managed by specialists in respiratory medicine.

The absence of a ventilator at the hospital had allegedly led to his death before the results of his coronavirus tests came through.

The Chairman of Nigerian Medical Association in the state, Dr. Nsikak Paul Nyoyoko confirmed the incident, saying that he had yet to hear details of what happened directly from the incident team who were still out.
