No fewer than 20 shops including a pharmacy were gutted by fire in Constitution Road, Kaduna state on Wednesday night.
It was reported that the fire outbreak started at about 7 pm but the cause is yet to be known.
Constitution Road houses the popular Ahmadu Bello Stadium and a third-generation bank none of which got affected.
Sadly, the majority of the shop owners were not available having due to the lockdown imposed on the state as a result of Covid-19.
However, residents of the area, as well as passers-by were seen making desperate efforts to put out the fire.
