The abducted twins of Alhaji Taofeeq Akewugbagold, a former chairman of the Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board (Muslim wing) have been released.
Recall we had reported that the twin children, a boy and a girl belonging to the Muslim cleric were abducted at gun point at his Ojoo residence on Saturday 25th of April the abductors demanded £100, 000 ransom for their release.
Akeugbagold while confirming the release of his children on his facebook page said the children were released to them on the morning of Sunday May 3 at 5:30am beside a bush after they have been kidnapped for 8 days
“ALHAMDULILLAH! AT 5.30AM OF SUNDAY 3RD MAY, MY ABDUCTED TWIN KIDS ARE RELEASED TO ME BESIDE A BUSH AFTER 8DAYS IN AN UNKNOWN LAND. THANKS TO U ALL FOR FOR YOUR PRAYERS AND SUPPORT, JAZAKUMULLAHU KHAIRAN. ABERE MI BO SINU OKUN, OLOUN YO PADA FUN MI”
However, the Muslim Cleric did not disclose if a ransom was paid to the abductors to secure the release of the twin children.
